What is SEHD USC?

The Texas A&M University School of Education and Human Development (SEHD) Undergraduate Student Council (USC) unifies and serves our students by: Promoting communication and collaboration, encouraging personal development, and positively impacting the SEHD and the University at large.

This council works to serve in an advisory capacity to the Dean and Associate Deans of SEHD and promotes a shared undergraduate identity within the SEHD.

USC takes the responsibility of hosting and assisting with SEHD events and represents SEHD students and their interests.

Why should I join?

SEHD USC is a well-rounded organization that positively impacts its members in many ways. USC provides useful professional experience through the task of representing SEHD students to the Dean and Associate Deans of the college. Leadership opportunities within the organization, professional speakers, and the creation/promotion of SEHD events are a great learning tool toward being a better professional.

USC also creates close bonds between members and provides a support system of like-minded individuals to help members make their way through college. Retreats and monthly socials create a close-knit community that will last for many years to come.

What we do:

SEHD USC hosts weekly meetings for members, monthly socials, service opportunities, and at least one retreat each semester. USC organizes events for the whole School of Education and Human Development in order to connect students to the tools and opportunities that SEHD provides.

This organization learns from speakers and industry professionals about the future of education and human development.

As USC is the bridge between the SEHD students and the dean and associate deans, USC meets with the Dean to relay the student body's wants and needs from the School.
